The Riu Resorts are excellent resorts. Very popular with all. Located near the club scene and shopping.

Check out Riu Palace Las Americas, stay there and you can use the facilities of Riu Cancun (2 resorts for the price 1) But you can’t stay at Riu Cancun and go to Riu Las Americas. They are next to each other.

The food quality is better at the Riu Palace Las Americas, but it is a much higher priced resort property. Both the Riu Palace Las Americas (RPLA) and Riu Cancun are excellent resorts. I loved the livelyness at the Riu Cancun, with a great entertainment staff, on-site disco and 24 hour sports bar. Both resorts offer excellent services but the Riu Cancun has many more ocean view rooms, in fact it is most of them. What most people would say is the major difference between the resorts is the RPLA is quiet and much more laid back, while the Riu Cancun has a lot more families and activities happening around the pool area. Both resorts also are in close walking distance to the Party Center, the area where most of Cancun’s world famous nightlife is located. Either way, you can’t go wrong with either resort.
